Care at Francis House — Southampton
Francis House is a StreetScene residential rehabilitation service at 2 Hulse Road in Southampton, opposite Southampton Common. It is one of several StreetScene houses and should be considered as the Southampton residence, not a catch-all entry for the organisation’s Bournemouth services.
Care and programme
StreetScene provides community-based rehabilitation for adults with drug or alcohol dependence who want an abstinent lifestyle. The programme uses structured individual and group work, relapse prevention and peer-community support; Recovery.com’s provider-validated listing also describes CBT, interpersonal work and 12-Step elements. Detox suitability is assessed separately, including medical information from the client’s GP.
Accommodation
The detached 1880s house has common rooms, single and double bedrooms, some en-suite facilities and additional shared bathrooms. A ground-floor double en-suite room and common areas are described, but applicants should confirm current accessibility and room assignment. New residents may initially share to support participation in the therapeutic community.
Admissions questions
Assessment is conducted by telephone or in person and includes treatment expectations, medical history and programme fit. A GP summary is required, and a blood test is requested when detox is involved. Ask about nursing cover, detox arrangements, medication storage, programme length, accessibility and a complete funding or private-pay quote.
Continuing care
Before admission, clarify how resettlement, family involvement and ongoing support are arranged, whether another StreetScene property is proposed later and what local services will take over prescribing or therapy after discharge.
