Care at Casa Palmera — Del Mar
Casa Palmera’s Del Mar campus provides residential and detox services for adults with substance use, mental-health and co-occurring conditions. The provider also operates nearby PHP and IOP services, but those outpatient levels should not be confused with living at the Del Mar residence.
Care and programme
Treatment is multidisciplinary and measurement-based, with an assessment used to build an individual plan. Published programme information includes CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, attachment and trauma-focused work, groups, family involvement and holistic activities such as yoga, expressive art, meditation and fitness. Medical detox is available for clients whose assessment identifies withdrawal needs.
Accommodation
The Del Mar residence offers private and semi-private rooms, chef-prepared meals, communal spaces and an on-site gym. Off-site activities may include beach visits and hiking, but these are supporting activities rather than substitutes for clinical treatment.
Admissions questions
Confirm whether the client is being admitted to detox or residential care at Del Mar, the treatment of any primary psychiatric condition, room type, medication arrangements and insurance authorisation. Ask for written clarification of what requires transfer to a hospital or another Discovery facility.
Continuing care
Casa Palmera describes nearby PHP and IOP, an alumni programme and a digital support programme after discharge. The discharge plan should specify the actual location and schedule of step-down treatment, expected housing and any separate charges.
